As we continue to produce daily newscasts, your team needs to create a final post-production project in your small group. You can choose between two genres:
The FIRST STEP is identifying a topic and writing a PITCH - you will need to make some notes, plan on how to deliver your idea in a short speech, and select a few relevent images.. Your whole team will pitch your idea to the advanced students in a semi-private meeting, during which time we will develop the concept for your project and assign directives. Read the following webpage for an idea of how to put together a pitch deck:

Your PITCH is due by next WEDNESDAY, MAY 16th and is worth 20 points. Sooner is better, because you will have more time to film and edit your project. Remember that you will still be involved in live production (including ENG segments) while this final project is going on, so manage your time the best you can.
See the rubric, below - this is the general way your video project will eventually be scored (60 pts). Depending on YOUR PERSONAL ROLE in the production, your score will be weighted differently. More information on this will be forthcoming. This is NOT your final exam grade, by the way. It is a MAJOR PROJECT grade.
- Promotional Video (Promo) - a short video that advertises or promotes something in the Trenton community or school district. Examples: school upgrades coming from the bond, clubs, classes, sports, a local business, a local public space (Elizabeth Park), etc.
- Public Service Announcement (PSA) - a message in the public interest that aims to promote awareness and encourage change toward a social issue. The message will either promote a positive behavior or discourage against a negative one. Topic examples: recycling, texting and driving, bullying, mental illness, suicide, healthy eating, safe dating, etc.
